Hola to all my lovely readers! Hope your having a great weekend! This is my first time writing a restaurant review! You know what they say there's a first time for everything! I'm glad it was this time! Last day i am one of the lucky bloggers who got invited to attend a soft opening of Fiery Style and i got a chance to devour there mouthwatering dishes. Its a Mexican Style cuisine restaurant located in 3rd floor new wing Robinson's Magnolia.

Upon entering the restaurant, you will feel the Mexican spirit like its Cinco de Mayo all over again!

First we participated on an opening prayer, blessing and showering of coins for good luck.

My Top Favorites & Food Recommendations 

First thing on my list is the appetizer its their famous Fiery Nachos its very crunchy with loaded of toppings. Next favorite is the main course Steak & Fajitas while i was eating it i heard the angels singing! I'm not even kidding you guys! Its so delicious! Its soft, tender and juicy no need to put gravy just sprinkle it with salt and pepper. Third on my list is the Combinationes, i like the quarted fiery grilled jerk chicken, sizzling sisig and baked bone marrow! They are the best! I can eat them all day! The burger and the mexican pizza is to die for! From the drinks i like the Strawberry Paloma its very refreshing! Last but not the least from the desserts hands down my number one favorite is the Brownie Ala Mode. 

Overall i will rate it 10 out of 10! This restaurant did not disappoint me, obviously i had a lot of favorites! Ambience is so good and very clean! The staff are all nice and pleasant! Service was fast with a great presentation! I'm still imagining the food while writing this blog! I will comeback again as a customer and i will bring my family and friends with me, looking forward to try their other menus!

Before i leave the restaurant i had to take a group photo with my fellow food bloggers, Mr Darwin and Mr Philip from Fiery Style. It was nice meeting you all! We are all girls in the group i had a great time talking to them. 

It was an honor meeting and interviewed Mr Philip Danao a Filipino Franchise Owner of Fiery Style, from being a former OFW to becoming a successful entrepreneur you are truly an inspiration sir! 

Last but not the least thank you to Mr Darwin from marketing and Ms Claire from Mplify for assisting us. This food tasting event would not be possible without the invitation of Sir Migs from Mplify. I did not met him yet because i have to leave early. Maybe next time sir i will see you in person. Thank you for having me! It was a wonderful experience!

“It is not selfish to take care of yourself!”

 Being a mom is hard work. Whether you are a stay-at-home or a working mom, having to juggle multiple responsibilities and knowing that your offspring’s life highly depends on you can absolutely be dreary. Most of the time, moms need to make personal adjustments too just to cope with such situation. Once you become a mom, you tend to put your little one’s needs first before yours. And that’s where it gets a little too overwhelming.

But when you stop caring for yourself, your ability to care for your child will also be affected. “I am a mom of four and as far as I remember, I spent most of my adulthood caring for my children,” shares Tina, a 43-year-old mom. “I start my day at 5:00am, fixing my kids’ baon and preparing them for school. Once they leave the house, I go on with my usual routine- clean the house, do the laundry, check their assignments, prepare dinner, wash the dishes and then put them to bed. Sometimes my husband jokes that I don’t time for him anymore as I am too focused on being a good mom! But funnily though, that is true. “I began contemplating and realized that with all the years that I have dedicated as a mom, it’s about time to think of myself now. With all the myriad of responsibilities that I have juggled and successfully carried out; I feel empowered. So empowered that I am ready to choose what’s best for me, aside from being a mom, of course” Tina says.

My Son's Summer Swimming Lesson

Hello everyone! Happy Summer Time! Where did you enroll your kids this summer? It's getting hot in here that's why my husband and I decided to enroll our son in a swimming class. His beating the summer heat and at the same time enjoying and learning. I want to keep him busy and active on his summer vacation, I don't want him to waste his time watching tv and play iPad all day. It's vacation let's make it memorable! He is now 7 years old (kuya na sya) his growing up so fast! His class is every Tues, Thur, and sat 9am to 10am with a fee of 2500 pesos for 10 sessions located at Maui Oasis Condominium. His coach is very nice and accommodating. My son's swimming attire is a long sleeve rash guard and shorts. He is also wearing goggles to protect his sensitive eyes from water with chlorine.

The first Lesson is a 1 on 1 class My son taught me how to breathe, make bubbles from the mouth, kick, and paddle.

The second Lesson is still a 1 on 1 class Streamline Kick and Circle Swim. I'm so proud of him he is a fast learner!

In the Third, Fourth, Fifth & Sixth Lessons my son had a companion 2 newcomer kids came to join the class. Coach teaches them how to use the paddle board, streamline kick and circle swim again so that they will master it.

7th, 8th and 9th Lesson

Same as the previous session. He improves a lot he can swim on his own without the help of his coach.   Unfortunately, his coach immediately rush to the hospital so his last session will be resumed by next week. He only had 1 more left but my son learned a lot of technique. He is not afraid of the water anymore.

Filipinos advised: Hand wash with soap frequently to prevent measles

Filipinos are urged to be vigilant in protecting themselves against measles, following the Department of Health’s declaration of a measles outbreak in  the National Capital Region, other areas of Luzon, and Central Eastern Visayas . 

Data from the DOH Epidemiology Bureau showed over 800 measles cases in Metro Manila in the first month of the year. The number of measles cases in the country has been on an uptrend, with 3,646 cases recorder in 2018 compared to just 351 in 2017 – a ten-fold increase.

Measles is a highly contagious but preventable disease that is transferred from one person to another through sneezing, coughing, and personal contact. Its symptoms include coughing, a runny nose, red eyes, fever, diarrhea, and a distinctive red rash that spreads all over the body. Its complications, which can be fatal, include ear infections, blindness, swelling of the brain, and pneumonia. In fact, measles is one of the top causes of death among children below the age of 5. 

Because of the seriousness of the disease, individuals should proactively take steps to protect themselves against it. Apart from vaccination, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDCP) recommends: 

● Frequent handwashing

● Not touching the eyes, nose, and mouth

● Covering the mouth when coughing or sneezing

● Avoiding close contact and sharing utensils with people who are sick

Hand washing can play a major role in helping prevent the transmission of the measles virus. According to the Global Handwashing Partnership, “Hand washing protection works by removing the tiny droplets containing the measles virus from your hands before they get a chance to infect you or transfer to someone else”.
